The Hershey Community Garden (HCG) opened in 2014. This community project was developed by Hershey partners including The Hershey Company, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Milton Hershey School, and the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Located on the Penn State Health Medical Center campus, the Garden boasts 235 plots available to local residents.
Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and The Hershey Company team members volunteer to manage a large plot dedicated to growing produce to support food banks. Since 2020, more than 13,000 lbs. of fresh produce have been donated. Additionally, volunteers manage a flower donation program delivering thousands of vases to local nursing homes.
HCG provides community members a place to cultivate both gardens and friendships. Members can participate in educational opportunities led by ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park. Amenities include benches, gazebos, picnic tables, compost bins, two shared storage sheds, and water hoses throughout the garden.
