Gardeners: Our kickoff garden meeting is on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Hershey Public Library.

Our friend Monica Pape from the Fertrell Fertilizer  Co. will be on hand to answer questions about springtime plot preparation, and Blake Romano of North Mountain Nursery will be there to talk about the HCG seedling fund-raiser. Feb. 28 is the deadline for orders, so check out the plant list here.

Also, any gardener who would like to make the annual $25 donation to Hershey Community Garden can bring a check or cash to the meeting.

We will have HCG T-shirts available for sale at $10 each. Try one on and take one home.

And lastly, for anyone who intends to share a plot with anyone outside of immediate family: EVERYONE who shares the plot must sign and return the gardening agreement. We'll have copies of the agreement available at the meeting.

About the Garden: The Hershey Community Garden (HCG) opened in the spring of 2014.  HCG founders, *Hershey Impact, provided the materials and built the garden located on the campus of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Please note: All 124 garden plots have been assigned for 2015.  However, if you are interested in a plot, please complete the Application and you will be placed on a wait list.

HCG provides community residents with a place to cultivate both gardens and friendships. Gardeners have opportunities to participate in on-site educational opportunities, hands-on gardening demonstrations, and garden festivals. Features of HCG include benches and a gazebo, picnic tables, water and hose access throughout the garden, compost bins, and access to a shared storage shed with gardening tools. HCG features 124 garden plots ranging in size; 5ft x 8ft, 8ft x 10ft , 8ft x 15ft, and 8ft x 20ft. Traditional garden plots as well as plots designed for children, and highly raised plots for residents unable to bend to ground level are available. A portion of the garden is devoted to philanthropic purposes – the produce cultivated in this section will be donated to people in need in our community.

Plot Sizes:
