Black Onion Fly

Detrimental:: The adult black onion fly feeds on nectar while the larvae eat decaying organic matter and roots. It is associated with cultivated garlic and onions. Here is the problem; the larvae feed on the onion roots even after they are harvested thus being referred to as “the enemy of the onion.” There is quite actually very little written about the Tritoxa flexa.
