Japanese Beetle

Popillia japonica

Appears: Adult Japanese beetles begin to appear around June 20 and are most abundant in July and first part of August.

Detrimental: The wheel bug is part of the assassin bugs and preys on insects considered defoliators such as beetles and caterpillars. Unfortunately, they also consume Lady Beetles and Honey Bees.

Size: 9.5 mm long and 6.35 mm wide
